MAINGEAR Announces SHIFT Desktops with NVIDIA GTX Titan GPUs

MAINGEAR GTX TITANMAINGEAR is one of the boutique gaming manufacturers that rushes to get the latest GPU and CPU technology built into its products, often offering the chips on the same day they get announced by Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA. It’s an impressive feat of logistics, support, and engineering – and the new GTX Titan looks to be no different.

The company has announced that the cards will be available as a port of three different product lineups: the MAINGEAR SHIFT, F131, and Potenza gaming PCs.

Depending on which computer you buy, you’ll be able to configure up to three of the GTX Titan video cards in 3-way SLI – but just one of these cards in a MAINGEAR PC is sufficient for 4K HD, according to the company’s press materials. Regardless of which setup you buy, you should be able to hook up to four separate displays up to just a single card.

MAINGEAR will be offering 3-way SLI in their flagship SHIFT desktop, with the F131 getting either one or two cards, depending on the configuration, and the Potenza sticking with just one.

NVIDIA’s GeForce business unit’s GM, Scott Herkelman, chimed in on the announcement: “We’ve always been proud to partner with Wallace and MAINGEAR. GeForce GTX Titan is designed for the world’s fastest PC gaming platforms, and MAINGEAR PCs deliver the top-of-the-line experience PC gamers demand.”

MAINGEAR hasn’t given a starting price point for getting Titan into the gaming system of your dreams – but unless you’re going for the Potenza, it isn’t likely to be cheap. A substantial portion of sales of MAINGEAR’s SHIFT PC are upwards of $5000.

MAINGEAR expects the new systems to be available on February 21st, which jives with general availability of the cards themselves. You can check out the PCs on MAINGEAR’s website, but the Titan-specific MAINGEAR site won’t be going live until 2/21.
