Logitech has become well-known in recent years for their high-quality line of computer accessories, particularly their keyboards and mice. The new Logitech Mechanical Gaming Keyboard G710+ adds traditional Logitech styling to some popular improvements that many modern gamers seek. The addition of mechanical switches mean that the G710+ promises to be one of Logitech’s most responsive keyboards yet.
The new model features a keystroke of 4mm, which is long enough to make the mechanic satisfying, but short enough to ensure speedy typing. Logitech engineered dampening rings beneath each key cap to try and make the G710+ their quietest gaming keyboard yet.
Aside from the new all-mechanical keys, perhaps the most exciting feature is the G710+’s dual-zone backlighting system. Just about every premium keyboard sold today features a high-quality backlighting system, but this model seems to take it to another level. The keyboard as a whole has a white LED backlight that can be set to one of four levels, or completely disabled. What sets it apart, however, is the fact that the backlighting of the W/A/S/D and arrow keys can be set completely independently from the rest of the keyboard, letting you focus on the most important keys for your game.
The G710+ offers gamers the traditional set of Logitech G-keys, to which you can set purpose-built macros and Lua gaming scripts. The 110-key keyboard also offers anti-ghosting and a whopping 26-key rollover – which means you should never have to worry about hitting too many keys at the same time.
Logitech says that the G710+ will hit stores in the U.S. later this month, with European availability to follow in December. If you’re looking to pick one up for the holidays, you can expect to spend right around $150.
