By year-end, Lexmark’s mobile print application for the Cisco Cius tablet will join a growing number of apps in Cisco’s AppHQ.
Developed in-house, Lexmark’s enterprise-class mobile print application is expected to require little to no configuration for mobile devices enabled on a company’s corporate network. Designed for business users, the Cisco Cius tablet enables secure computing, communications and collaboration.
Lexmark’s new mobile print application is also compatible with other Android-based mobile devices, according to the company.
Additionally, while optimized to work with lexmark printers and MFPs, the mobile print application will support printing on other manufacturer’s output devices that support standard file formats, such as pdf, jpeg and tiff.
With the growing adoption of mobile devices among enterprises, the need for mobile printing solution is expected to increase as well to support the out requirements of business users.
According to IDC, the rapidly expanding mobile worker population, the proliferation of smart phones and media tablets, and the explosion of mobile apps will converge to drive demand for mobile printing solutions over the next five to ten years.
