Lexmark International, Inc. introduced two new families of color lasers focused on the mid-range segment of Lexmark’s enterprise printing and imaging market. The new offerings consist of the Lexmark X740 series of color laser multifunction products (MFPs) and the Lexmark C740 Series of color laser single function printers.

The lexmark C740 Series will offer two models – the C748 and the C746 – and each model will consist of three configurations. The C748 models, starting at $999 with the C748e base model, will offer customers Lexmark’s e-Task 4.3-inch color touchscreen with audible feedback, print speeds up to 35 ppm, a print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, a 800 MHz processor with 512MB of memory standard, a monthly duty cycle up to 100,000 pages and network connectivity.

The C748de will offer automatic duplexing and Energy Star qualification. The C748dte offers everything mentioned plus an additional 550-sheet paper tray for a standard paper capacity of 1200 sheets compared to the standard 650 sheets on the lower two models.

The C746 models start at $699 and feature many of the same specs as the C748 models including: print speeds up to 35 ppm, print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, an 800 MHz processor with 512 MB of memory standard and network connectivity. The main differences are the C746 offers a 2.4-inch color LCD, a lower monthly duty cycle of 85,000 sheets and lower yield toner cartridges shipping with products.

You’ll still find automatic duplexing and Energy Star qualification in the C746dn and C746dtn configurations and an additional 550-sheet paper tray standard on the C746dtn.

The lexmark X740 series starts at $2199 and offers the same basic print specs seen in the C740 Series in a multifunction package featuring print, scan, copy and fax capabilities. In all three configurations, starting with the X746de base model, you’ll find an e-Task 7-inch color touchscreen with audible feedback, print speeds up to 35 ppm, a print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, a monthly duty cycle up to 100,000 pages, 100-sheet ADF, automatic duplexing, network connectivity and Energy Star qualification.

On the higher end models, the X748de and the X748dte, users will get higher capacity toner replacements and a hard disk while the X748dte adds a second 550-sheet drawer standard.

Both the C740 Series and X740 Series are available today through Lexmark.
