Lexmark expands SmartSolutions Library with Box.net

Lexmark International and Box.net, a cloud content management company, introduced Box.net SmartSolution for Lexmark’s Web-connected All-in-One (AIO) inkjet printers, marking Lexmark’s first foray into the cloud.

The new solution, called Scan to Box, is compatible with the Platinum, Pinnacle, Prestige and Interact inkjet Web-connected AIO printers, designed for small and medium-size business users.

“Business efficiency and ease-of-use is core to Lexmark’s SmartSolutions development, from our Google Calendar to TripIt SmartSolutions. Many of today’s businesses are turning more and more to the cloud to lower operating costs and streamline how information is distributed internally and externally. With the Scan to Box SmartSolution, users can quickly leverage these benefits and easily access, share and collaborate online, saving much needed time and money,” said Greg Leimer, Solutions Business Development Manager, Lexmark.

With Scan to Box users can upload and store important documents directly from a Web-connected printer to their Box.net account in a matter of seconds, without turning on their computer. The SmartSolution enables: easy uploading of documents for business collaboration; scanning and uploading of business receipts and documents for safe storage; and, seamless uploading and transfer of information to business associates.

In an era of increasingly on-the-go data access from a slew of mobile devices, Scan to Box allows users to store data in the cloud facilitating data sharing and collaboration from anywhere at anytime. Users can even set up multiple Scan to Box solutions.

Scan to Box requires a Box.net account. Box.net, in business since 2005, Box.net has helped more than 3 million individuals, small businesses and Fortune 1000 companies’ access data via the cloud from anywhere.
