Lexmark International recently introduced the ESPN and BBC News and Sports SmartSolutions for its All-in-One (AIO) printers, the latest addition to the Lexmark SmartSolutions library.

With the new SmartSolutions, users will be able to view the latest information from ESPN and the BBC directly on their AIO printers’ touch screen. These two apps follow the recent launches of Tripit and vertical specific solutions that aim to keep small business employees organized and up-to-date on the latest news.

“These two specific SmartSolutions were designed for busy business people who don’t have time to surf the Web looking for news and sports updates but still like to stay informed,” said Greg Leimer, senior business development manager at Lexmark.

The ESPN and BBC News and Sports SmartSolutions, along with existing solutions for MSNBC and Apple Hot News, enable one-touch access to news. Also, with Lexmark’s RSS feed SmartSolution, users can choose their favorite web site and turn it into an RSS feed that displays the real-time news they’re most interested in, directly on their touch screen, while leaving their computers free for more important tasks.

Similarly, other SmartSolutions apps allow users to, for example, view and print a Google Calendar, upload documents to Evernote, view and print travel itineraries from Tripit, access and print photos from Photobucket, purchase and print USPS postage and shipping labels from Stamps.com, all without having to turn on a computer.

“The goal for Lexmark’s SmartSolutions is to save our customers time and money by completing tasks more efficiently,” said Leimer.

The company’s SmartSolutions line of printers are web-connected touch screen all-in-one devices designed for small and medium size businesses.

The ESPN and BBC SmartSolutions are available for free and immediate download through the Lexmark website for the Lexmark Platinum, Pinnacle, Prestige and Interact Web-connected touch screen AIOs.
