The all new Lenovo Miix 720 Windows detachable is an impressive alternative to the latest Microsoft Surface and packs a number of new technologies to make work life as easy as possible.
Measuring in at just 0.57 in (14.6 mm) and 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg) including the keyboard with touchpad, the Miix 720 is a remarkably portable Windows detachable. The full-size keyboard delivers 1.5mm of key travel making it easier for touch typists to craft lengthy emails and other documents.
The Miix 720’s integrated infrared (IR) camera with Windows Hello instantly recognizes your face to unlock the device instead of forcing you to remember yet another password.
The 12-inch touchscreen delivers QHD+ screen resolution with 2880 x 1920 pixels. Of course the screen is used for more than just good looks. Thanks to the Lenovo Active Pen 2 and its shortcut button you can open your email or other applications and make hand-drawn edits to presentations. The new Lenovo Active Pen 2 uses Windows Ink and features an impressive 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to make writing on the touchscreen feel more like writing on paper.
Lenovo claims the Miix 720 will deliver “up to 8-hours” of battery life and features a USB connection that never sleeps; meaning you can charge a USB device while your Miix 720 is powered off. That being said, one of the USB Type-C ports doubles as a Thunderbolt 3 port for high speed data transfers and connecting to external displays.
If you aren’t interested in using external displays you can still use the Miix 720’s kickstand out to 150 degrees so you can move the tablet into your preferred viewing angle. The improved dual kickstand hinges offer a noticeably smoother movement compared to previous Miix detachables while also remaining firm when you move the kickstand into its final position.
The Miix 720 Windows tablet with keyboard included starts at $999.99 and will be available in your choice of Champagne Gold or Iron Gray beginning in April 2017. The new Lenovo Active Pen 2 starts at $59.99 and will be available beginning in February of 2017.
