The 15.6-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 with Windows 7 Home Premium is a well-rounded and budget-friendly multimedia notebook; now on sale through Amazon for for $658. For almost $200 off the MSRP, we managed to find a model with an Intel Core i5-480M processor–that’s a better processor than our review model–and is less expensive than our review model, too. Keep reading to find out if this is the right multimedia notebook for you.
That price isn’t bad at all given the whole of the system: the Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB hard drive, an HD widescreen with 1366 x 768 resolution, and a 5-in-one card reader. Not to mention that in our review we praised the system for its build quality, style, and great keyboard and touchpad.
We also said it’s pretty easy to upgrade–simply remove the bottom panel screws and you will find the slots for RAM, hard drive, wireless card, and heatsink/processor combo.
As far as battery life goes, the 48Wh 6-cell battery lasted for 3 hours and 6 minutes, but on the upside you may use the included Lenovo battery management software.
