Lenovo Announces 60 Million ThinkPads Sold Milestone
Lenovo today announced that sales of its ThinkPad notebooks will exceed 60 million units by the end of the month. ThinkPad notebooks were introduced 18 years ago and brought many new innovations to the notebook industry; a spill-resistant keyboard and protective roll cage are two. ThinkPad notebooks were also the first with a built-in CD-ROM drive, DVD-ROM drive, wireless, embedded security subsystem, and fingerprint reader.
Lenovo also announced that it is updating its ThinkPad T410, T410s, and T510 notebooks with Nvidia Optimus graphics-switching technology. They are available immediately; pricing begins at approximately $1,299 for the T410 and T510 and $1,849 for the T410s.
