Leaked shots of the WD TV-2 HD box surface
When we reviewed the original WD TV HD media player last fall, we definitely came away impressed. Western Digital had put a lot of effort into something that might just help them sell hard drives, and the a result was a polished, nifty little device. In fact, the only real complaints were that the devices didn’t support networking or have an Ethernet jack, the former of which has been rectified thanks to 3rd party firmware.

Some shots have surfaced of an updated box, however, and it looks as if WD has listened to their fans. In addition to the same software support (not much looks to have changed in that arena), the device sports a new Ethernet jack as well as an analog video out port to go along with the HDMI. It’s obviously too soon to talk about features and pricing, but it looks like the TV-2 is shaping up to be a strong follow-up to its older brother.
