Lantronix Inc, a provider of smart M2M connectivity solutions, launched the xPrintServer Home Edition, a patent-pending printing device designed for Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch users.

A plug and play print solution, the xPrintServer Home Edition enables wireless printing from Apple devices using the native print menu and works with more than 4,000 top brand USB and network printers, according to the company.

The new product is optimized for home users and is based on the company’s award-winning, patent-pending xPrintServer Network Edition. The xPrintServer Home is optimized for USB printers and doesn’t require any apps or software.

The device plugs into a network (router or switch with wireless access point) and also into a USB printer. The xPrintServer automatically detects the printer and enables printing from the Apple devices.

Each xPrintServer supports unlimited iOS devices, up to 8 USB printers and up to two network printers. A USB hub is required to connect more than one USB printer.

The new wireless printer will begin shipping in July 2012 and can be pre-ordered for $99.55, according to Lantronix.
