Konica Minolta announced the release of the new bizhub PRESS C70hc production print system at a press conference as the AIIM On Demand Expo and Conference opened its doors on Tuesday morning in Washington D.C.
Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President of Marketing introduced the new bizhub PRESS C70hd. It will be targeted at the production print market – advertising agencies, graphic arts firms, direct mail organizations and commercial printers – thanks to quick print speeds up to 70 ppm and eco-friendly High Chroma toner allowing for a wider color gamut than past models while generating less waste and emitting less CO2, NO2, and SO2.
Konica Minolta includes a custom designed IC-601 Internal Print Controller with a resolution up to 1200 dpi at full speeds, high speed RIP processing and transfer as well as new color management functions and remote operation capabilities.
The bizhub PRESS C70hd also features the Screen-Enhancing Active Digital Process (SEAD), an advanced color processing technology that offers a dual-beam laser unit.
Mr. Kern also spoke briefly about Konica Minolta Japan. He reported that all Konica Minolta employees’ were accounted for in Japan with no major damage to facilities. There have been some minor transportation delays, but they do not anticipate any major business interruptions. Konica Minolta has already made donations to the Red Cross in support of disaster relief.
He also touched on the Clean Planet Recycling Program as a huge success for the company.
