Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. announced they have been chosen as one of the “2011 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World” by Corporate Knights, a Canadian-based magazine for clean capitalism.

Corporate Knights, with their partners, have been putting together the annual Global 100 list since 2005 based on the sustainability of corporations with the help of environmental, social, governance and financial data.

Konica Minolta was selected for the Global 100 out of a pool of approximately 3,500 companies from around the world because of its global social sustainability activities including the “Green Factory Certification System.”

The “Green Factory Certification System” was started in January 2010 as a way to gage environmental practices at production sites. As many as five business units had already achieved target CO2 emissions in January 2011, despite the target date of March of 2012.

Along with the Global 100, Konica Minolta has also been included in several foreign-based indexes including the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index, the FTSE4Good Global Index and the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index.
