The new Intel G45 chipset with integrated X4500 HD graphics is ready to take on the AMD 780G-based motherboard.
The Intel G45 should match the 780G in gaming performance or come very close; it can achieve 1,100 marks in 3DMark06 and has hardware-assisted high definition content decoding.
Foxconn plans to ship its new Concerto G45 board in a number of versions, including those that feature DDR2 and DDR3 memory. The new board will support the latest 45nm Intel processors with up to a 1,600MHz FSB, and ATI CrossFireX.
