IFA Consumer Electronics Show Begins Friday

IFA is the largest consumer electronics show in Europe — it officially starts in Berlin this Friday. Tablet devices will be one of the biggest items.

IFA is an important event for technologies and products that are display-oriented, such as tablet PCs. The show is open to the public and runs from Sept 3-8, 2010.

Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy Tab, which may be the first serious competitor to the Apple iPad. It will run the Google Android 2.2 operating system; likely specifications include a 7″ 800×480 display, 1GHz processor, and built-in WCDMA 3G.

Other tablets may be launched at IFA; Toshiba is rumored to be preparing a device similar to the Galaxy Tab along with Acer.
