IDF2011: Live at the Intel Developer Forum!

by Reads (2,356)

Another year, another IDF. At last year’s IDF we got to see what new hardware came from Intel, as well as the company’s partner-released notebooks and desktops–even AMD stuck their head up to make a few claims. So far this year, it doesn’t seem too different – AMD has already started with its Guinness record announcement.

Intel Developer Forum IDF2011

Aside from enjoying the super fast wireless Internet access, we’ll be here to bring the latest in Intel’s developments, starting with Intel’s first keynote address at 9 AM PST (12 PM EST). What will we see? Intel will brag about its gains in the server market, the plans to push down rival AMD, and will explain how it controls 90-odd-plus percent of the X86 CPU market share. Intel also plans to talk about its Ivy Bridge (and beyond?) upcoming CPU refreshes.

Beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess! Select OEMs will be taking the opportunity to showcase and release some of their latest consumer and business hardware (expect some special announcements tomorrow!) Is there a track that you want us to cover more in depth? Let us know in the comments below. We’ll be here all week – and be sure to come back later on Friday to see our visit to HP!
