Eco friendly was the theme of HP’s IPG announcements this morning with the release of the eco friendly LaserJet P2050 series which uses 50% less energy than comparable products using fuser and the Eco Solutions Print Console.
The LaserJet P2050 printer series is comprised of two compact “state of the art” monochrome laser printers: the base P2055d and the top P2055dn with the major difference being that the P2055dn features networking capabilites. And by compact, I do mean compact. I was surprised by how tiny the P2055 was in person.
The P2050 series also offers print speeds up to 35 ppm, a first page out in eight seconds thanks to instant-on technology, print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, a 600 MHz processor with 64 MB of memory, and optional high capacity toner. The HP instant-on technology is a great example of how HP has been a leader in reduced energy consumption among its products.
As both models are a part of HP’s Eco Solutions program, they carry the Eco Highlights Label, are Energy Star compliant, and feature HP’s brand new Eco Solutions Print Console. For more information, find out How HP does green or read about HP’s latest additions to its Eco Solution portfolio.
The Eco Solutions Print Console will allow P2050 series users to monitor and manage their energy usage/settings, toner coverage, paper and supplies in an effort help reduce the customers carbon footprint while hopefully saving supplies and money. The free Eco Solutions Print Console is currently only available for owners of the P2050 series but HP may have plans to include it with future models.
