HP Rolls Out G62m, dv7t Notebooks
HP has silently introduced its new G62m budget notebook and Pavilion dv7t entertainment notebook.
The 15.6-inch G62m has a dark blue exterior with a matte surface. Starting at $529.99, it has the following specifications:
- 15.6-inch glossy LED-backlit display (720p -1366×768 resolution)
- Intel Celeron processors: 900 (single-core, 2.2GHz), T3300/T3500 (dual-core, 2.0/2.1GHz)
- Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics
- HDMI port
- 2GB – 4GB DDR3 memory
- 250GB – 500GB hard drive
- 6-cell battery
- Weight: 5.5 lbs.
- Dimensions: 14.72″ (W) x 9.70″ (D) x 1.25″~1.44″ (H)
- 1-year limited warranty
HP claims the G62m can get up to 5.5 hours of battery life. The specifications overall are very spartan but should get the job done for those that only need a basic computer for Internet and email.
HP also introduced its 17.3-inch Pavilion dv7t entertainment notebook, which is the standard version of the dv7t Select Edition. It starts at $799.99, about $150 less than the Select Edition. The dv7t has the following specifications:
- 17.3-inch glossy LED-backlit display (900p – 1600×900 resolution)
- Intel Core i3/i5 dual-core and i7 quad-core processors
- Intel HD integrated graphics, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 512MB, or HD 5650 1GB graphics
- 4GB – 8GB DDR3 memory
- 500GB – 2TB hard drive or 160GB SSD (two drive bays)
- 6- or 9-cell battery
- Weight: 6.37 lbs.
- Dimensions: 16.35″ (W) x 10.8″ (D) x 1.25″~1.46″ (H)
- 2-year limited warranty
The dv7t is essentially the same machine as the dv7t SE except for its exterior, which is plastic instead of brushed aluminum. It also starts out with a lower base configuration.
