HP today unveiled its newest notebooks designed for corporate clients and small and medium business customers. The new EliteBook p-series, ProBook b-series, and ProBook s-series promise something unique for every type of business user. The combination of the latest Intel Core processors along with extreme battery life make an attractive option for road warriors who need durable notebooks with plenty of performance.

The HP EliteBook 8460p and EliteBook 8560p notebooks feature a completely redesigned HP DuraCase that meets the MIL-STD 8710G military-standard testing specifications, meaning these notebooks withstand greater wear and tear than a typical laptop. Despite the rugged build quality these notebooks should be easy to carry thanks to an advertised starting weight of only 4.56 pounds and 6.10 pounds, respectively.

The EliteBook p-series is available with second-generation (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7 quad-core processors and Core i7, i5 and i3 dual-core processors, with your choice of integrated graphics or high-performance AMD Radeon HD 6470M discrete graphics. The notebooks also feature USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 charging port, in addition to a variety of wireless options, choice of multiple operating systems, and either hard disk drive or solid-state disk drives for storage.

The 14-inch HP EliteBook 8460p and 15-inch Elitebook 8560p also offer 3-, 6- and 9-cell battery options for lightweight and extended battery run time. The notebooks are also compatible with the new HP Extended Life Notebook Battery and HP Ultra-Capacity Notebook Battery. HP claims the EliteBook 8460p can deliver up to 32 hours of battery life with the new HP Ultra-Capacity notebook battery, so we’re eager to see if the new HP can beat the recent battery life claims for the new ThinkPad T420.

If the previously mentioned ports and battery life isn’t enough to meet your business needs, then the new HP EliteBook p-series connects to the new HP 90W Docking Station or the HP 120W Advanced Docking Station for use with peripherals like multiple monitors or an external keyboard to provide a desktop experience.

For small and medium businesses who don’t require enterprise-level support or military-standard durability, the new HP ProBook 6360b, HP ProBook 6460b and HP ProBook 6560b provide a wide range of impressive configurations at a more affordable price. The 13.3-inch ProBook 6360b, 14-inch ProBook 6460b, and the 15-inch ProBook 6560b all feature LED displays and a new smudge-resistant and wear-resistant, tungsten-colored design.

The HP ProBook b-series includes standard features such as bead-blast aluminum display enclosures, a magnesium-reinforced ABS chassis and a bottom-case drain that helps protect against accidental minor spills on the keyboard. Additional configuration options include Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 dual-core processors or an Intel Celeron processor. The ProBook 6460b and 6560b also feature optional AMD Radeon HD 6470M discrete graphics with 512MB dedicated video memory.

HP ProBook s-series 4230s, 4330s, 4430s, 4530s and 4730s notebook PCs are available in an array of sizes – from ultra-light 12-inch models to desktop replacement 17-inch systems – meaning there is a business notebook to fit just about any need.

The HP ProBook s-series comes in a durable brushed-aluminum finish with a metallic gray color. All of the new HP ProBook s-series offer second-generation Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 processors for high performance or an Intel Celeron processor for the most affordable price.

The ProBook s-series also includes a spill-resistant keyboard set in a full aluminum deck, USB 3.0 ports and built-in fingerprint reader. At the time of launch the ProBook s-series will only be available with Intel integrated graphics, but AMD Radeon HD 6470M switchable graphics will be available later this year on select models.
