HP Releases New Pavilion g6 Value Notebook
HP is planning to release a new 15.6″ budget consumer notebook starting at less than $500 in March.
The HP Pavilion g6 will be available with Intel processors, including the value Pentium Dual-Core plus first- and second-generation Core i3 and i5 dual-core processors. Other specifications include up to 4GB of RAM and a 500GB 5400RPM hard drive. Integrated Intel HD graphics are standard; some models offer a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 6470M 1GB. Weight starts at 5.62 lbs. Three USB 2.0 ports, a memory card reader, and a built-in webcam round out the features list.
The g6 will be available in a variety of colors including “Charcoal Grey”, “Sonoma Red”, “Butter Gold”, “Luminous Rose”, and “Sweet Purple”. The HP Pavilion g6 is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in mid-March for around $449-$499.
