HP has released the Pavilion dv1000, a 14″ WXGA screen notebook with the ability to play DVDs and Music without ever booting up the operating system. The dv1000 is available from HPShopping.com now.
The dv1000 appears to have some really nice design touches. All of the notebook’s ports–including FireWire and S-Video–as well as a five-in-one media card reader and the DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive are located along the sides of the notebook (instead of the back) for easier access. Small icons placed along the edge of the keyboard identify each of the ports to make it easy to find which one you are looking for.
