Hewlett Packard delivered a firmware update that delivers mobility and web-connectivity to owners of Hewlett Packards’s (HP) latest generation of HP LaserJet printers.

The firmware update is now available for download for six HP Laser Jet printers that support HP ePrint and HP Business apps. Those printers include: HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 Color MFP Series, HP LaserJet Pro CP1525 Color Print Series, HP LaserJet Pro M1530 MFP Series, HP LaserJet Pro CP1020 Color Print Series, HP Color LaserJet CM4540 MFP Series and the HP Color LaserJet CP5525 Printer Series. Additional printer support will be made available in the future, according to the company.

HP introduced a line of web-enabled e-All-In-One printing solutions designed for the cloud, and printing from a mobile device, back in June 2010. This latest upgrade to HP’s ePrint technology allows SMB customers the ability to print from any mobile device by sending their documents – from emails, contracts and photos – to an ePrint-enabled LaserJet printer email address.

Now, owners of the select LaserJet printers can access the HP ePrintCenter to download HP Business Apps. HP Business Apps are solutions designed to improve a businesses productivity and workflow, including printing marketing materials, business forms and stored online documents without a PC. These apps are accessible via the touch screen display on the LaserJet printer.

Access to HP’s ePrint solutions requires that the select printer be connected to a network with Internet access. The firmware update is available at www.hp.com/go/eprint.
