HP dv5000z Notebook Available (pics, specs)

HP has released a new 15.4″ multimedia notebook that is essentially the same as the existing dv4000 notebook they offer, but instead of an Intel processor it uses a choice AMD Turion 64-bit processors or AMD Sempron processors.


The choice of processors with the dv5000z will be the following:

  • AMD Sempron 3000+ (1.8GHz)
  • AMD Sempron 3300+ (2.0GHz)
  • AMD Turion 64 ML-32 (1.8GHz)
  • AMD Turion 64 ML-34 (1.8GHz)
  • AMD Turion 64 ML-37 (2.0GHz)
  • AMD Turion 64 ML-40 (2.2GHz)

The screen for the dv5000z will be a WXGA screen with the option of BrightView (glossy screen).  The graphics card will be a low-end ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M with the option of 32MB or 128MB.  Hard Drive speeds ranging from 40GB to 120GB can be selected, with the fastest option being a 5400RPM 80GB hard drive.  The dv5000z will also come with the option of Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition.  Using an Express Card TV tuner ($179.99 option) you can watch and record live TV to your laptop using the Windows MCE operating system.
