HP Compaq unveils new Desktop PCs

HP announced two new business class desktops focused on reduced energy consumption while maintaining “performance and value.”

The HP Compaq dc5850 and dx2450 Business Desktop PCs feature built-in power management tools for consumers who are looking for opportunities to “go green” or just want to save some green on their electric bills.

 The dc5850 combines AMD’s new Cool’n’Quiet 2.0 Technology and Energy Star 4.0 with integrated ATI Radeon 3100 graphics, standard support for RAID technology and the newest AMD Business Class processors, including AMD Phenom.

The dx2450 gives consumer’s options with NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards, memory expansion capabilities and HP’s Power Manager, an aforementioned power management tool that allows users to choose performance and/or conservation levels for their PC.

The HP Compaq dx2450 starts at $369 and is available today in North America.  The HP Compaq dc5850 Business Desktop PC starts at $599 and is expected to be released on May 5.
