While it may seem a bit premature considering most schools have just released for the summer holiday, HP has already begun its back-to-school campaign.

In the midst of several new product releases, HP’s Imaging and Printing Group has announced three new printers: the Photosmart Plus All-in-One (AIO), the Photosmart C4780 AIO and the Deskjet D1600 series.

The Photosmart Plus AIO has print, scan and copy capabilities while offering print speeds up to 29 pages per minute (ppm), individual ink tanks, a TouchSmart panel, built-in Wi-Fi, an auto-engaging photo tray and HP’s Photo Print Gadget, also found on the Photosmart Premium Fax AIO.

The Photosmart Plus is Energy Star qualified and uses 30 percent less energy than the previous generation.

The Photosmart C4780 AIO is a 3-in-1 device with print, scan and copy capabilities.  It also features print speeds up to 29 ppm, built-in Wi-Fi, the HP TouchSmart panel, a memory card reader, and laser quality text output.  The Photosmart C4780 also uses HP Original recycled ink cartridges, made from at least 50 percent recycled materials.

The Deskjet D1600 is a single function printer made from 25 percent recycled materials and uses HP 60 inks, made from at least 50 percent recycled materials – similar to the Deskjet D2660.  The D1600 features print speeds up to 20 ppm, a USB 2.0 connection and Energy Star certification.

HP also features the Officejet 6000 Wireless in their back-to-school press release. For more information on the HP Officejet 6000 Wireless, read our full review!

The Photosmart Plus AIO and the Deskjet D1600 should be available in August, while the Photosmart C4780 is expected to be released in mid-July.

The estimated retail values for the HP Photosmart Plus AIO, the Photosmart C4780 AIO and the Deskjet D1600 are $149, $129 and $39, respectively.
