Graphics Card Manufacturer BFG Tech Closes Up Shop

BFG Tech, once a premium partner of GPU giant NVIDIA, has officially begun to shutter its doors.  According to letters being mailed to customers, BFG can’t even repair products being sent in under warranty claims. There’s no word yet as to quite just why the board maker has thrown in the towel.

This is an excerpt from a letter BFG Tech is sending to the aforementioned warranty customers:

BFG Technologies Inc. is in the process of winding down and liquidating its business. Unfortunately, our major supplier would not support our business. As a result, we are returning your graphics card without being able to repair it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

It wasn’t so long ago that BFG was being hailed for making some of the best and fastest graphics cards on the market. After a brief – and ultimately unsuccesful – venture in the power supply arena, the company was further hurt by the fact that they weren’t allotted any chips from NVIDIA’s latest 400 series lineup.

Unfortunately for gamers, it seems like those famed “lifetime warranties” are more expensive than companies think.
