Getac announced today it has upgraded its best-selling B300 rugged notebook computer with faster processors, improved graphics and increased storage. Starting with speed and performance, Getac now offers a third generation 2.6GHz Intel Core i5-3320M (3.3GHz with Intel Turbo Boost) or 2.9GHz Core i7-3520M (3.6 with Intel Turbo Boost) processor with up to 67% better performance than the previous B300 and nearly double the graphic performance with a 91% gain over the previous generation. In addition, the B300 now comes standard with a 500GB hard drive and offers solid-state drive storage up to 256GB. For field workers and military personnel, this translates into greater productivity with a system designed to work in the most extreme working conditions.

The new Getac B300 rugged notebook (like its predecessor) has been built to effectively function in even the harshest working conditions. From the B300’s magnesium alloy housings to its fanless sealed design, the B300 is created to ensure continued operation in any environment, reducing the risk of failure and minimizing down time in the field.

While speed, performance and rugged design are critical to police, fire departments and military personnel, it’s just as important that a notebook be easy to use and effective under extreme conditions. The Getac B300 incorporates Getac’s industry-leading QuadraClear display technology. With a 1400 NITs option, the B300 can be easily viewed in extreme lighting conditions such as direct sunlight and reflective conditions including sand and snow. For military soldiers working in hostile areas, the B300 can also be configured with a filter-free night vision mode ensuring easy viewing without giving away your location.

The newest B300 features “Super Speed” USB 3.0 and USB 3.0/eSata combo ports, both HDMI and VGA ports, a IEEE 1394a port, an Ethernet port and two legacy RS-232 serial ports. Additionally, the B300 offers built-in GPS, 4G LTE wireless internet and a host of security features including a built-in fingerprint reader, Intel vPro Technology and TPM 1.2.

As with all of Getac’s fully rugged notebooks, tablets and convertible computers, the B300 is backed by the industry’s best 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. That warranty covers the B300 from damage that occurs due to accidents and environmental exposure. The new B300 is available for order starting today directly from Getac or through Getac-authorized resellers.
