Just when you thought digital pens were just for tablets and hybrid notebooks, Genius has updated its Pen Mouse for PC users looking for that pen experience. The new Genius carbon grey Pen Mouse features a redesigned shape for improved grip and pen clip so it will fit perfectly in your favorite pocket protector.

The new Pen Mouse uses a Pico (nano-style) 2.4 Ghz wireless USB receiver and allows users to sit back in their chairs and use their leg, palm, or any number of unconventional surfaces as a mouse pad. While the idea of a pen mouse is nothing new, there are a number of people who claim pen-style mice help alleviate pain from carpal tunnel syndrome as it does not require use of the wrist.

As previously mentioned, Genius claims the Pen Mouse functions on almost any surface with three dpi settings, switchable between 400/800/1200 dpi to accommodate various sensitivity and screen resolution preferences. A slight, downward push activates the left-click, while right-click and “flying-scroll” buttons are located near the tip of the Pen Mouse. Pushing the flying-scroll button and vertically or horizontally moving the Pen Mouse allows you to scroll pages or windows.

The wireless Pen Mouse is powered by a single AAA battery and uses a power-saving sleep-mode when not in use. The Pen Mouse also comes with a carrying case that protects the Pen Mouse and dongle when traveling.

The Genius Pen Mouse is available in carbon grey or silver color options for the suggested retail price of $49.99.
