Lexmark International Inc. ranked in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner Inc.’s Magic Quadrant: Managed Print Services Worldwide report and also in Gartner’s 2012 MFP and Printers, Worldwide, Magic Quadrant.

In the recently released MPS report, lexmark was evaluated on “completeness of vision” as well as its “ability to execute.” According to Gartner, Leaders execute well against their current vision and are well positioned for tomorrow. The other quadrants include visionaries, niche players and challengers.

Lexmark’s operates a global managed print service. MSP is a mix of software tools, services and custom solutions and strategies to transform an organization by improving overall print efficiency and delivering incremental savings and business process improvement.

As a Leader in Gartner’s MFP and Printer Magic Quadrant report, Gartner defines Leaders as: the most capable in providing MFPs (including SMFPs), printers as associated printing solutions and services; for offering an extensive product portfolio relative to their peers; high market share and consistent service delivery; deep global capability; and a proven track record of turning R&D into products and solutions.

Lexmark attributes the Leader ranking, in part, to its leadership role in smart MFPs with several next-generation devices combined with its Perceptive Software portfolio.

In other print related news, lexmark reported better than expected financial results for Q3 2012 with $919 million, which is still down from last years figure of $1.035 billion.

In August 2012, lexmark announced that as part of a restructuring it is exiting the inkjet business, including development and manufacturing of its remaining inkjet hardware. The company planned on refocusing investments on higher value imaging and software solutions.
