Fujifilm, Epson and CGS teamed up to bring the latest in proofing, color printers and color management web-based applications to the Graph Expo 2008 last week.

Fujifilm introduced a plethora of new products at their Graph Expo booth, including: the Epson Stylus Pro 7900/9900 series of inkjet printers, CGS’ new ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0, ORIS Press Matcher, ORIS Ink Saver software and Fujifilm’s FinalProof GxT contract proofer, ProofSatin 240 inkjet media and C-fit color enhancement and conversion software.

The 24” Stylus Pro 7900 and the 44” Stylus Pro 9900 feature new ink colors – orange and green – in addition to nine other ink colors.  The Stylus Pro 9900 will print twice as fast as previous Epson models and featured CGS’ Color Tuner Web 6.0.

CGS’ Color Tuner Web 6.0 is a web-based color management and control system offering improved handling of packaging, halftone dot structure, screening capability and a new drag-and-drop feature which allows files from a remote location to be dropped into the proofing queue.

CGS’ other software – ORIS Press Matcher and ORIS Ink Saver – helps cut work load while saving users approximately 25 percent in ink consumption “keeping you and your color “In Control” with Fujifilm” according to the press release.

Last but not least was Fujifilm’s FinalProof GxT high-end contract proofer and ProofSatin 240 inkjet media that was also features on the Epson Stylus Pro 9900.  The new proofers offer an optional in-line spectrophotometer which helps with streamlining calibration and remote proofing.

No word on when the new printers or proofers will be available.  The ORIS software from CGS’ can be found on the CGS website.
