by Reads (1,263)

Force3D today launched its ATI Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 graphics cards, releasing the 4870 one day early.

The Radeon HD 4870 is not supposed to launch until tomorrow. Force3D’s version has a 750MHz core clock and 512MB of GDDR5 memory running at 3600MHz – that is correct, 3.6GHz. With a 256-bit memory interface, it has 115.2GB/s of memory bandwidth. Early benchmarks show it is ahead of the current fastest Radeon, the HD 3870 X2, by a small margin.

No pricing has been announced, however you do not have to wait long to find out – cards from various vendors should start appearing tomorrow.
