Calling it an alternative to offset presses in the digital era, Konica Minolta, a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, announced the availability of the bizhub PRESS C8000, the first system in the vendor’s bizhub PRESS production print product line.

Available through Konica Minolta’s North American direct sales and authorized dealer sales channels, the bizhub PRESS C8000 is a high-speed color digital press that offers high-quality prints to rival more costly offset printing. The device prints 80 pages per minute (ppm) color and black and white at 1,200 dpi, and up to 4,800 pages per hour, with a monthly duty cycle of half-a-million pages.

The bizhub PRESS C8000 offers a variety of advanced finishing and media handling capabilities, such as in-line finishing options including saddle stitch booklet making, perfect binding, and multi-folding.

Other product features include Konica Minolta’s Simitri HD+ color polymerized toner for offset-like image quality; an image Density Control (IDC) sendor for real-time color adjustments; a new Dual Fusing system to maintain productivity even when running heavy stocks; and a vacuum belt paper feeding system for reliable substrate handling.
