Epson added two new all-in-one photo printers to its Artisan line up, the Artisan 835 and the Artisan 725, featuring the “world’s fastest 4×6 photo print speeds” and the ability to charge mobile devices.

The Artisan 835 and Artisan 725 can print 4×6 photo prints in as fast as 10 seconds without a reduction in quality with its DX5 MicroPiezo technology.  These speedy devices can also charge portable devices using the front side USB port allowing customers to do more with their devices.

But the new Artisan all-in-ones aren’t all flash, sticking with the popular touch technology found on previous generations; the Artisan 835 offers a 7.8-inch touch panel with a 3.5-inch LCD while the Artisan 725’s touch panel offers only a 2.5-inch LCD.

The new models are also targeted at the same segment of the consumer market as in the past, the home.

“From family photos and creative projects to school work and household documents, these versatile all-in-ones deliver the quality, reliability and performance consumers have come to expect from the Artisan line,” said Julie Ernest, product manager, Consumer Ink Jet Printers, Epson America, Inc.

The 4-in-1 Artisan 725 offers print speeds up to 9.5 ipm in black and 9.0 ipm in color, automatic duplexing, six individual Ultra Hi-Definition Claria ink cartridges, a dedicated 20-sheet photo tray with CD/DVD printing, a 120-sheet paper cassette, built-in memory card reader and wireless connectivity.

Unlike the Artisan 835, the Artisan 725 comes in two colors: the traditional black design and the all-white “Arctic Edition” sold exclusively through Best Buy.

The 5-in-1 Artisan 835 is the flagship model featuring a larger display, a 35-sheet auto document feeder and built-in fax along with all the features mentioned on the Artisan 725.

Both models are Energy Star qualified, RoHS compliant and feature an estimated yearly power consumption for under $2.  Epson America, Inc. is also a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified SmartWay Transport.

The Artisan 835 and Artisan 725 will be available later this month through the Epson website for $299.99 and $199.99, respectively.  The Epson Artisan 725 Arctic Edition will be available through Best Buy in mid-September for $199.99.
