Eco ink made from old coffee grounds

Inhabitat – the cohost of the Greener Gadgets Competition – released information yesterday about a new hand powered printer that uses old coffee grounds in place of inkjet cartridges to print documents.

The RITI Coffee Printer is one of the top fifty gadets appearing in the Greener Gadgets Competition this year.  The competition pits ten finalists against each other with live demostrations of their gadgets and the winner gets $5,000.

The cog of the printer is an ink case.  It is filled with the coffee or tea grounds and then is pushed back and forth in the machine to print text.  Not exactly practical but definitely eco friendly.
