EA and Crytek today announced Crysis Warhead, the parallel story to Crysis. It will be exclusive to PC and ship this fall.
Crysis Warhead is based on Crytek’s CryENGINE 2 technology. Cevat Yerli, CEO and president of Crytek, said in a statement: “With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive, free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis.”
In the game, players will play as Sergeant Sykes, or ‘Psycho’, and play the game parallel to Nomad, the original character in Crysis. Psycho’s trek through the jungle on the other side of the island will be more intensive and explosive than Nomad’s. Psycho will have a larger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and vehicles.
In addition to the enhanced single-player game, Crysis Warhead will have new multiplayer content. More details on the game will be released this summer. The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB or PEGI.
