Dell unveiled the Inspiron 13z and 14z series today, promising “ultra-thin” form factors and the “latest technology” for consumers. The notebooks can best be used for general use and entertainment purposes and are equipped with second generation Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processor options and a 720p display.
Inspiron 14z (N411z)
A few Inspiron 14z talking points include Intel Wireless Display technology for hooking it up to the big screen wirelessly (HDMI is also available), the choice between Intel Core i3-2330M or Intel Core i5-2410M processors, and the choice of either a 640GB hard drive at 5400rpm or a 750GB SATA drive at 7200rpm. The 14-inch display has a 1366×768 screen resolution (720p) and the full physical dimensions are 0.92″ – 1.0″ x 13.6″ x 9.7″ with a starting weight at 5.0 pounds; SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports are also available. According to Dell, the z series has “excellent battery life.”
The Dell Inspiron 14z is available today in select regions on Dell.com starting at $600.

The 13.3-inch Inspiron 13z series also has a 1366×768 widescreen display (720p). Other known options include up to 8GB of memory and the choice between a 320GB or 500GB hard drive or a 128GB solid state drive. The 13z is currently only available in select countries in Asia.
