Dell had an exciting launch this morning with the arrival of the 5130cdn, “the world’s fastest single function A4 color laser printer,” and the 7130cdn, Dell’s first 11×17 color LED printer.

The Dell 5130cdn will not only allow users to print up to 47 ppm in color – which would be the fastest print times in its class – but it will also print duplexed letter sized documents at a rate of 37.6 ppm (that is the fastest duplexing speeds on any printer).

The 5130dn also offers a 550-sheet paper cassette and a 150-sheet multipurpose tray standard, a monthly duty cycle up to 110,000 pages, and Dell’s new EA Eco toner, which requires less energy to heat and fuse to paper.  Dell is also offering a unique 3-yr full warranty on the 5130cdn.  This warranty even includes fuser maintenance.

Cost per page is low – as you find with many lasers – at .104 cents per black document and .776 cents per color document.

The 7130cdn will be Dell’s first wide format color LED printer; they announced their first wide format printer – the monochrome 7330dn – in November 2008.  This latest addition is PANTONE color approved with a print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi and offers a monthly duty cycle up to 150,000 pages.

Built-in duplexing and network capabilites are standard on the 7130cdn as are the 500 sheet paper drawer and 100 sheet multipurpose tray. The 1-yr limited warranty also includes fuser maintenance.

Dell estimates the cost per page at .169 cents per black page and .934 cents per color page.

The Dell 5130cdn and Dell 7130cdn are now available on for $1549 and $2799, respectively.
