Today Dell released two new desktops geared at small businesses in emerging markets.  The Vostro A100 and A180 are expected to be used in traditional business environments.  They offer up to 160GB hard drives, DVD or DVD+/-RW drives.  Either desktop can be ordered with Windows XP or Ubuntu, which can be a nice cost-saving measure for low-income markets

The A180 supports Celeron and Core 2 Duo processors, while, interestingly enough, the A100 comes standard with an Intel Atom processor.  While these desktops aren’t expected to appear in North America, the Atom-based A100 could be an interesting product even in larger economies for people looking for cheap, power-efficient home servers.  In addition to the new desktops, two notebooks were also announced.
