The Dell Precision M6600 and M4600 mobile workstations, launched in May, can now be configured to have over a terabyte of solid state drive storage at 512GB (SATA3) each. Dell states that the company is the first to offer 512GB of SATA3 SSD storage in a mobile workstation. Also available now for the M6600 is the NVIDIA Quadro 5010M GPU with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. Dell states that the company has included these options to appeal to the faster video render times and enhanced graphics needed by graphic artists and other creative professionals.

The SSDs provide 500MB/s read and 300MB/s write times. The M6600 can be configured with up to two full-sized storage slots and one mini-card slot (up to 128GB) and the M4600 can be configured with up to two storage drives as well.

The NVIDIA Quadro 5010M is the company’s newest flagship GPU. It has Error Correction Code (ECC) memory and 64-bit Floating Point Precision, both of which help with computing accuracy. These features are only currently available on this GPU by NVIDIA.

Pricing & Availability

The 512GB SSDs and the NVIDIA Quadro 5010M GPU are available worldwide now, priced at $1,120 and $1,640 respectively.
