Today Dell is making the all new XPS 12 convertible notebook (also called the XPS Duo 12 in some markets) available for pre-order. The 12.5-inch XPS 12 is currently available to customers in the United States and will be available worldwide in the coming days. Further, Dell is offering Windows 8 as an option on its current XPS, Inspiron, Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision brands.
The XPS 12 is two devices in one: a full-featured, full-powered laptop that easily becomes a full-featured tablet powered by Windows 8. The unique flip hinge touchscreen display allows you to easily switch between laptop and tablet mode with a simple flip of the screen. When in tablet mode, the display completely covers the keyboard, preventing you from accidentally pressing the keys and protecting the keyboard from dirt and spills. The Full HD (1920×1080 resolution) display provides 90 percent more pixels than a standard HD (1366×768 resolution) display found on most 12-inch and 13-inch notebooks for a better viewing experience and a more productive working environment.
Dell is also updating its popular systems in time for the holidays. The XPS 13 has been updated with a new specification, including the Ivy Bridge chipset. As a result, Dell claims the new XPS 13 is up to two times faster than the previous generation XPS 13.
The company also introduced two new touch-enabled all-in-one desktops, the XPS One 27 with touch, and the Inspiron One 23 with touch.
