Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming ImageThe new Dell Inspiron 14 7000 Gaming and Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptops are surprisingly affordable gaming notebooks both measuring less than 1 inch thick and designed for people who want a premium gaming experience but don’t demand bleeding edge performance … or the price tag that comes with it.

Dedicated thermal vents at the front and rear of the chassis are the first visual indicators that these are laptops have something special hidden inside. Behind those vents are extra-capacity heat exchangers connected by oversized piping to dual cooling fans with high-efficiency blade pitch, engineered specifically to handle Intel’s latest 7th Gen H-series quad core mobile CPUs, and Nvidia’s latest GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050Ti (15 only) discrete graphics. Of course, the vents also help to cool the storage drives from extremely fast PCIe NVMe 512 GB M.2 SSD, up to 1 TB conventional HDD or dual-drive M.2 128 GB + 1 TB HDD configurations.

While these notebooks aren’t going to challenge a $3000 gaming notebook, we’re talking about laptops that can handle the latest gaming titles or industrial-grade video editing for a starting price of just $799.

The 14-inch and 15.6-inch displays range from FHD up to a high-detailed 4K UHD display (FHD is the only option on the Inspiron 14 7000 Gaming). The audio experience is equally impressive thanks to an onboard subwoofer and tailored stereo speaker enclosures driven by Waves MaxxAudio Pro audio processing.

The 74 WHr battery in the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming and the 56 WHr on the Inspiron 14 7000 Gaming provides more than enough capacity to keep you in the game on the road or allow you to stream hours of your favorite TV shows or movies. Both notebooks feature a solid variety of ports and standard features including 802.11ac wireless, Gig-E RJ-45, SD media card reader and multiple USB 3.0 ports.

Note to potential buyers: The 2016 Inspiron 15 7559 4K’s display used RG/BW Pentile matrix to more or less ‘cheat’ the ability to advertise the 4K resolution, without actually providing the full detail of the resolution. Be on the lookout to see if the new 2017 7567 model is pulling the same trick, or if it is using a 100% honest true-4K display.
