High-capacity 8GB DDR3 1333MHz desktop and notebook memory, now achievable in one module, is available through Crucial. The UDIMM and SODIMM modules, for desktops and notebooks respectively, are built to support the 2nd generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. The module can provide 8GB of memory for desktops with only one DIMM slot available.

“The new Apple iMac, for example, can utilize up to 32GB of system memory enabling intense computing power for applications such as video, photo, or music-editing software. High density memory isn’t just for servers anymore; consumers also want to get the most performance out of their system,” said Michael Moreland, worldwide product manager for Crucial DRAM.

The 8GB DDR3 1333MHz desktop and notebook modules are halogen-free and RoHS compliant. The kits are available in 16GB to 24GB now through Crucial and select partners, including Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct, and CDW. The kits carry a limited lifetime warranty for parts and labor.

Available today, the prices for Crucial’s 8GB 1333MHz sticks start at just $265.99.
