Creative has introduced its latest sound card, the PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Series.

Creative said they produced the card in response to requests from end-users. The company claims that the new PCI Express X-Fi is faster than even the best audio available on PCs today. New features include Dolby Digital encoding and optimization for Windows Vista. The addition of Dolby Digital is most welcome; it allows for connections to home theater systems and was not present on earlier X-Fi cards. The new X-Fi also supports EAX 5.0 and 128 hardware-accelerated voices.

The PCI Express X-Fi comes in two versions, Professional and Champion. The Professional will retail for $149.99 and includes only the sound card, while the Champion, retailing for $199.99, inclucdes the sound card plus an I/O drive for a 3.5″/5.25″ bay, which allows for quicker access to headphone/headset connections.
