Corsair took the wraps off a new enthusiast-oriented power supply this week that comes in at a whopping 950 watts.  The new TX950W now sits at the top of Corsair’s premium TX series.  It offers a 12V rail that can send up 78A / 936W of power — almost the maximum possible load.  Geared to deliver enough wattage for the newest power-hungry systems, the TX950W joins its cousins, the TX650W, TX750W and TX850W.

Efficiency was also a key point for Corsair, as they brought the TX line up to 80 Plus Bronze level certification, which promises at least 85 percent efficiency under load.  The new power supply supports the ATX12V 2.3 and EPS12V 2.91 standards, and is backward compatible with ATX12V 2.01.  Corsair promises a 5-year warranty out of the box; the new unit will run users around $179.99 at select retailers.
