by Reads (4,607)

IOGEAR today introduced its new dual-view 4-port Mini DisplayPort KVMP switch with USB 2.0 hub; the device connects the two to offer new functionality. The switch device is the same size as the Apple Mac Mini and IOGEAR states that up to four Mac Minis can be bunked and connected on top of it. A USB keyboard and other PC peripherals can then be plugged into it. Users don’t need a Mac to use it; it’s compatible with Windows and Linux as well.

Up to four computers can be connected and accessed from the device with from one keyboard, mouse, and Mini DisplayPort console monitor. The USB hub allows each computer connected to the device to access every peripheral shared by it, eliminating the need for two or more shared switches.

The most recent Mini-TOSLINK and Mini DisplayPort connectors have also advanced in this new design, allowing for what the company states is ultra-high resolution audio and video set at maximum 3840 x 2400 as well as 2560 x 1600 maximum dual-link.
