Samsung was showing off a new gaming notebook of theirs slated to come out in a few months. The Samsung M60 will sport NVidia 8000M graphics (DX10 compatible), a Blu-Ray drive and the latest Intel Santa Rosa chipset. It looks pretty hot too!

I took a screen shot of the Windows Performance Index in Vista and the readout was pretty impressive:

Notice it indicates the graphics card as being the NVidia NP8P-SE using 512MB of dedicated memory. Under the DirectX version, it indicates it as being "DirectX 9.0 or better". It is better, it’s DirectX 10. The M60 will use the Santa Rosa chipset from Intel and of course the latest Core 2 Duo series processor when they hit. Availability for this notebook should be in the May/June time frame.

Samsung doesn’t usually run with the big boys when it comes to offering gaming notebooks, but this time they’re one of the first to show off a next generation high-powered notebook. A new direction for Samsung maybe?
