Card-Killing Drivers Fixed with NVIDIA GeForce Driver Update

by Reads (3,382)

NVIDIA took some heat recently when their 196.75 drivers were shown to have a fatal flaw – they could destroy the cards they were meant to enable.

Today, Big Green released new drivers for their GeForce graphics cards – an update to 197.13.  The new drivers run under 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.  While NVIDIA states that most problems caused by the faulty drivers were fixed with a simple software downgrade, they’re working with board partners to make customers with longterm problems happy.

You can download any of the necessary drivers here:
Windows 7 and Windows Vista (32-bit)

Windows 7 and Windows Vista (64-bit)
Windows XP (32-bit)

Windows XP (64-bit)

Did you have a card damaged with the faulty drivers? Sound off in the comments below.
