Canon U.S.A. Inc. announced new professional services support and the new Partner Transformation program designed to target Authorized Canon Dealers interested in bolstering their Managed Document Services (MDS) business and offerings.
By improving the expertise of its channel partners who offer MDS, Canon is addressing the growing interest in managed document services among businesses of all sizes that are looking to improve workflow and better manage their document costs, according to the company.
The new professional services support offerings leverage Canon’s enterprise document systems and solutions expertise to aid in the implementation of customer-facing MPS engagements. The Partner Transformation Program will provide extensive training and mentoring developed to help dealers successfully initiate and manage MPS services.
Depending on the needs of individual dealers, Canon will offer services that address each phase of the engagement including: customer assessment; design; deployment and transition; support and management; and, evaluation and review.
The launch of the new Partner Transformation Program focuses on the development of revenue enhancement and profit opportunities for Canon Authorized Dealers. The program addresses the key challenges facing dealers who want to transition from being traditional hardware providers to comprehensive document service providers including executive commitment, operational profitability, revenue generation, infrastructure effectiveness, and ongoing education for all levels of the organization.
Some program elements that will be addressed include: best practices and operational strategies for parts, training, territory structure, inventory control, staffing, and more; measuring contract success through the service element of the engagement; developing MPS financial and operational metrics; identifying and quantifying inefficiencies in the service component of the contract; and, capitalizing on operations and financial service opportunities to support an MPS initiative.
