The Canon Selphy CP900 was introduced this morning along with three new Pixma Photo AIOs as the first in Canon’s compact photo printer lineup to offer wireless connectivity and mobile printing applications.
Along with the traditional plug and print capability of the Selphy lineup – think memory card reader, PictBridge or USB connection – users will now be able to print from any computer on their wireless network or from a compatible Android or Apple product using the Canon Easy-Photo Print mobile app to the Selphy CP900.
The Selphy CP900 comes in two colors – black or white – and also offers a 16.5 percent footprint reduction and a 14 percent decrease in weight from the previous generation CP800, a 2.7-inch LCD, print speeds as fast as 47 seconds per 4×6 image, and an estimated 28 cents cost per print.
For users interested in taking the Selphy CP900 on the road, Canon will offer an optional battery and charger.
The Canon Selphy CP900 is expected to be available later this month for the suggested retail price of $99.99. A replacement ink cartridge and paper pack will retail for the suggested price of $29.99.
