Canon Scoops Up iF Product Design Awards

Four Canon Printers were selected for iF Product Design Awards in the computer category along with some of the vendors other products in the audio/visual category.

Canon scooped up a total of seven iF Product Design Awards, which are recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design.

The winning printers include: Canon’s Pixma Pro-1 professional inkjet printer, the Pixma MG6320/MG5420 inkjet all-in-one (AIO) printers, and the imageCLASS MF4890dw monochrome laser (AIO).

The Pixma Pro-1 is a professional inkjet printer designed for the professional photographer printing quality prints on various media up to 13 x 19-inches. It has the built-in Canon the full-photolithography inkjet nozzle engineering (FINE) featuring a patented print head that enables printing with microscopic droplets and high resolution up to 4800 x 2400 dpi.

The Pixma Pro-1 also features the 12 color LUCIA Pigment ink system for improved color saturation and darker, deeper blacks, new levels of skin tone reproduction, accuracy and quality.

The premium 6-ink AIO Pixma MG6320 inkjet printer is a low-profile design with an intuitive touch panel and 3.5-inch touch screen. The device offers print resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, borderless and two-sided printing.

Other product features include photo lab quality prints, printing on disc surface, smartphone and tablet printing, AirPrint support, and Printing via the Internet.

The Canon Pixma MG5420 includes Wi-FI, Internet printing with Pixma Cloud Link and five high-performance individual inks, as well as mobile printing and Apple AirPrint. The device also offers double-sided printing and CD/DVD printing. The Pixma MG5420 also features a print resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 dpi.

The imageCLASS MF4890dw laser multifunction printer is Wi-Fi and network-ready and features print, copy, fax and scan capabilities. The mono laser offers print and copy speeds of 25 ppm and print quality of up to 1200 x 600 dpi with automatic image refinement and print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.

The other iF Product Design Awards went to Canon’s EOS-1D X digital SLR camera, the PowerShot ELPH 520 HS/530 compact digital cameras, the Cinema System of professional digital cinematography products and the Cinema EOS M interchangeable-lens digital cameras.  You can read more about the audio/visual award winners at our sister site, DigitalCameraReview.
